The Armoor police, under the supervision of Deputy SP Akula Ram Reddy, arrested six persons and recovered Rs.6,000 cash and a television from a bore-well spare parts shop where they indulged in cricket betting, on Monday evening.

The arrested were identified as RajkumarAgarwal, a businessman, EletiKishan Reddy, Pallolla Anand Reddy, KolipakaVinod Reddy, Gaddam Mohan Reddy and Eleti Srinivas Reddy. The police raided the spot after they received a message that the accused were betting on Australia-Srilanka cricket match.

Deputy SP Mr. Ram Reddy said that Agarwal was found to have connections with bookies Ghouse in Hyderabad and Vijay in Pune and therefore investigation was being conducted into the case. He was also involved in betting in the IPL. A case was registered Under Section 3 and 4 of AP Gaming Act and the accused were produced in court in Nizamabad, he said.
