Ever since winning the Indian Idol title in 2010, Sreeram Chandra did not leave any stone unturned in the field of music. Grabbing every opportunity that comes his way, Sreeram has now created a niche for himself as a singer in the Telugu film industry.

Ask him what inspires him, he immediately replies, “My passion. When you have it within, you will definitely not limit your learning horizons. If you are interested and open to experiment with different expressions, you can achieve anything you want in any given discipline. That’s how I have learnt singing. Of course, hard work and dedication go without saying.”

Coming from a non-filmy background, he finds the profession all the more challenging. “Since I have found my ground in music, I don’t mind trying my luck in acting too. But singing is my first love and would always remain to be one throughout.” He has sung three numbers in Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, ‘Balma’ song in Khiladi 786 and is also belting out more for his debut movie.

Special place

About the city he said, it would be a special place for him as he was born here. “People over here are very warm and the city always fascinates me with its coastal charm.” When it comes to acting he says that he is a director’s baby. “I feel I am like water in the hands of the director. I leave it to him to mould me as he wants for the movie.”

Apart from singing and acting Sreeram loves to watch movies during free time and his favourite singers are Michael Jackson, Kishore Kumar and S.P. Balasubramanyam. “There is so much to do in life and it is too early to decide anything right now. I think it is important to be a good human being and win people’s heart as a singer and an actor,” he concluded.
