ELURU: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), an outfit of the Congress, on Thursday took its demand to make Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy Chief Minister to the ordinary masses in the city.
The NSUI activists launched a signature campaign in favour of their demand by involving college students autorickshaw crew and passers-by. Goli Sarath Reddy, NSUI spokesman, said the signatures collected from different sections of society would be sent to the party high command in Delhi to enable it to feel the public mood.
Mayor T. Rama Rao and former Deputy Mayor G. Bramhavathi took the lead by signing in favour of the demand. The NSUI activists roped in students from St. Theresa’s College for Women and a corporate college seeking their signatures.
