Debutant director Sivakumar gives his best in "Chukkallo Chandrudu" produced by Alexander Vallabha. But it is Siddharth all the way both on screen and off the screen. You can find him in almost every frame. He utilises the opportunity and performs well.
Siddharth himself provides the story and assists in screenplay as well. The story is a typical one as the hero, who is against marriage, decides to marry a girl to please his grandfather, but does not want to compromise and tries to select one among his childhood friends.
The storyline is wafer thin but the director is able to weave the subject well with help of good screenplay and nice narration.
Arjun (Siddharth) loses his parents in a plane crash and is brought up by his grandfather Krishna Rao (Akkineni Nageswara Rao). They have over Rs. 500-crore worth property. His grandmother Padma (Waheeda Rehman) wants Arjun to get married but he always avoids it.
She takes a word from her Krishna Rao to convince Arjun for marriage and passes away. Unable to convince Arjun, Krishna Rao leaves for India without any notice to Arjun. Arjun realises that his grandpa is in India and lands in India. In order to take him back to Germany, Arjun accepts to marry a girl, but he wants to select his better half from one of his childhood friends.
Of them Shalini (Saloni) is a big tennis player while Sandhya (Charmme) is an animal lover and Sravani (Sada) is a medico. He wants to win their love as an individual and introduces himself as Krishna to each of them. However, all the three look good and friendly and the hero is unable to select one among them.
On grandpa's advice, he learns friendship is not the criteria but has to choose one who really loves him. While Shalini loves him very much, her father, who is also her coach, pleads with him that he wants to see his daughter in a winner's position. Sandhya loves a boy (Prabhudeva) but does not understand him well. Arjun unites both of them. The lone choice is Sravani, but she misunderstands Arjun and accepts to marry some other person.
Will Arjun be able to prove that he really loves Sravani forms part of the remaining film. Siddharth excels in all the departments and shows good comedy timing. Saloni, Charmme and Sada do justice to their roles. After a long time, Akkineni comes to the big screen and even matches the dancing steps along with the hero. Music by Chakri is enthralling while choreography is good.
