ACB sleuths led by Deputy SP Sankar Reddy, on Saturday, trapped Sub-Inspector of Lingampet police station, Nagendra, when he was accepting an amount of Rs.8,000 as bribe from the accused in a group clash case.

The SI, who demanded the money, and writer-constable Suresh, who accepted it on behalf of the former, were arrested and sent to remand. Initially, the SI demanded Rs.25,000 from the eight accused in the case, but in the bargain he came down to Rs.8,000, according to Saidulu, the ACB Inspector.

On 12th of last month, two groups had clashed over a matter at Pedda Tanda (tribal hamlet) of Nallamadugu village in Lingampet mandal and lodged complaints against each other. A case was registered on one group led by Amar Singh under Section 324 IPC.
