The petitioner alleges that his father is not being paid salary from April 2007

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Tuesday summoned Commissioner of Labour on Friday in connection with a case of dereliction of duty.

According to a press release issued by the Commission, the Labour Commissioner was not responding to the notices issued by it.

A resident, Murtuza Ali, filed a petition alleging that his father Sarfaraz Ali, who was working as attender in the Labour Commissioner’s Office, was not being paid salary from April 2007 and was not sanctioned two annual grade increments and other benefits.

Dereliction of duty

The SHRC held that non-payment of salary to Sarfaraz Ali amounted to human rights violation and dereliction of duty on the part of Commissioner of Labour and directed him to be present before the Commission.
