‘Patience and perseverance needed to be successful in films’
With training in Journalism and Mass Communication Shraddha dreamt of getting into the electronic media. “In my college days, I used to speak well during debates. And I thought I would become a news anchor some time.”
Coming from a non-filmy background, she found the going tough during the initial days of her career. “Five years of experience in the film industry has really made me strong. You have to work hard to get noticed, and now I am getting the kind of roles I wish to play.”Shraddha feels comfortable starring with Kajal Agarwal and Tapsi. “No matter how much one denies, there is always an air of competition with female co-stars. But yes, I feel comfortable to work with everyone. Mahesh Babu and Junior NTR are the other two actors I would love to work with. I also admire Nagarjuna, as he still maintains himself well.” Her favourite co-stars are Venkatesh and Allu Arjun. She has a message for young and up-and-coming actors. “You need to have a lot of patience and perseverance to be successful in the film world. Some people gain popularity quite easily and when we see them climbing up the ladder fast, we do get disappointed at times. But everybody has their own way and destiny. The way you approach makes a difference. For that, you need to compete with yourself.”After acting in a series of multi-starrer movies in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, Shraddha is looking forward for her new movies.
‘Punnami Ratri’ is a multilingual movie directed by Vinayan, which will be released shortly. “I play a priest-cum-vampire in that film. Another movie ‘Rey’ is also on the cards in April. I have interesting roles to play in these two movies.”
Shraddha is a fitness freak. “I practise yoga regularly. Whenever I find time, I try to catch up with sleep, which may continue for 15 hours.”
Sharing beauty tips, she said confidence can enhance one’s beauty. “Apart from being confident, if you really want me to share a secret, drinking five to six cups of green tea without sugar per day make your skin glow.”
