Some of the self help groups (SHGs) have failed to repay the loans that they have taken in the past.
This has come to light in the meeting of the DRDA held here on Thursday, presided over by Collector A. Dinakarbabu.
The officials of the State Bank of India (SBI) informed the Collector that they had failed to collect the loans taken by more than 1,300 accounts of the SHGs and they need the assistance of administration in recovery.
While promising the assistance at field level, the Collector has directed the staff of Indira Kranti Patham (IKP) to visit the SHGs and convince them to repay the loan. It was also suggested to hold recovery camps.
These loans have been pending for more than three months.
Mr. Dinakarbabu praised the SBH for extending 100 per cent bank linkage.
SBI Chief Manager Haribabu, PD DRDA Sudhakar and others were present.
