3,000-km padayatra will be undertaken on October 18 from Idupulapaya to Itchapuram
The 3,000-km. padayatra by Y.S. Sharmila, daughter of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, from Idupulapaya to Itchapuram from October 18, will go down in history as the longest one in history, YSR Congress MLA of Tirupati B. Karunakara Reddy said on Saturday.
Ms. Sharmila Reddy drew inspiration from her father and there was no rationale behind remarks that she was aping Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu, he told newsmen at Idupulapaya in Pulivendula constituency. Mr. Karunakar Reddy accused Mr. Chandrababu Naidu of taking up the padayatra for political mileage.
A massive public meeting would precede her padayatra. Ms. Sharmila would announce the route map for the padayatra, he said.
Taking a dig at the government, he charged it with shelving YSR’s schemes and goals, setting aside its public responsibility and instead driving people into a state of despair.
Homage paid to YSR
Former MP Bhooma Nagi Reddy, MLAs Karunakar Reddy, A. Amarnath Reddy, G. Srikanth Reddy and K. Srinivasulu, MLC C. Narayana Reddy paid homage at YSR samadhi.
They later held a meeting of constituency in-charges in Kadapa district regarding the arrangements.
