Former Minister P. Shankar Rao upped the ante against Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy alleging that the actions of the State government were distancing the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and the minority communities from the Congress.
“The Chief Minister appears to be determined to drive away these communities considered the traditional vote bank of the Congress,” he alleged.
Dr. Shankar Rao expressed concern over the way he was targeted for raising his voice against corruption, undue favours being doled out to select few and misuse of power.
Referring to Greenfields Association controversy in which a case was registered against him, he said he was prepared to face an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the issue.
At the same time, the Chief Minister should also order Central Bureau of Investigation probe into red sanders smuggling case and other controversies.
He lamented that police was being used against MLA Paritala Sunita while the government drove away minorities from the party by reopening closed cases against MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi.
He ridiculed appreciation of the Chief Minister by a section of his Cabinet colleagues as “Dalit Bandhu” and said Mr. Kiran Reddy was in fact a ‘dalit drohi (betrayer) who was targeting them on one pretext or the other.
