Hyderabad: The Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC), the apex body of the Sikh community, is planning to establish a full-fledged zonal office for the entire South in the city.

The office will be established at the Gurudwara Guru Singh Sabha, Ashok Bazar, in Afzalgunj next month, announced the SGPC president, S. Avatar Singh Makkar on Wednesday.

Mr. Makkar held a series of meetings with the Prabhandak Committees of various Gurudwaras in connection with the 300 years of the installation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and ‘Parlokgaman’ of the 10th Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh.The event is going to be celebrated on a large scale during October and November 2008 at Takhat Sachkhand Shri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib in Nanded, Maharashtra.
