A seven-year-old boy was killed in a road accident at Madhavapatnam on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Rehamatullah, son of Sheik Jani and a student of Royal Public School.
The accident took place when the boy was returning home from the school.
When he was crossing the road, a speeding auto-rickshaw hit him on the road, killing him on the spot.
The police were on the look out for the auto-rickshaw driver. A case was registered and investigation was on.
In another incident, an auto-rickshaw driver died while undergoing treatment in the Government General Hospital (GGH) here on Tuesday. According to the police, Bolla Srinivas, 46, an auto-rickshaw driver from Sahapuram village near Pedapudi, met with an accident in the early hours of August 20 and was admitted to the GGH with severe injuries.
The doctors performed surgeries on him, but he died while undergoing treatment on Tuesday evening. His relatives and friends staged a dharna outside the GGH, accusing the doctors of showing laxity while treating him.
The police pacified them and sent the body for a post-mortem. A case was registered.
