V Nagi Reddy, Principal Secretary, Panchayat Raj Department, has mooted setting up of facilitation centres at the mandal level to extend and expand the range of citizen-centric services in online mode to the people living in rural areas.

Mr. Nagi Reddy on Saturday inspected the office of the Mandal Parishad Development Officer in Julurupadu and monitored the status of implementation of various government schemes including the MGNREGS in the mandal, according to official sources. Later, he reviewed the progress of execution of various development works at the gram panchayat and mandal level with Collector Siddharth Jain in Khammam.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Nagi Reddy said that plans were afoot to harness information technology in a big way to provide a wide array of citizen centric services to the rural people in electronic mode by making optimum use of the wide network of Mee Seva Centres.
