GUNTUR: As the clock ticks for the crucial cabinet formation, senior MLAs and several hopefuls are keeping their fingers crossed. Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who left for New Delhi on Saturday, would try and meet United Progressive Alliance Chairperson on Sunday night or on Monday morning and get a formal approval for the first list of Cabinet portfolios, it has been learnt.

The CM is likely to complete the exercise by Monday and convene the first Cabinet meeting before flying to Jerusalem on a week-long Holy Land pilgrimage from May 27.

Senior MLAs including Guntur-West MLA elect Kanna Lakshminarayana, are staying put here and observing the developments.

Even though the unassuming senior leader tried to downplay the hype and speculations of his portfolio, chances of him getting a crucial ministry are bright.
