HYDERABAD: Devarashetti Venkateswarlu of Nelakondapally village in Khammam district has been adjudged best farmer (‘adarsha rytu’) for presentation of the State-level Sanskranti ‘puraskar’.

Others selected for the awards are: Illuri Ramalakshmi of Markapur mandal in Prakasam district (best Agricultural Extension Officer), K. Santhosh of Nizamabad (best Mandal Agricultural Officer), J. Satyanarayana of Warangal district (best AD of Agriculture), and I. Ramakrishna Murthy of Guntur (best JD of Agriculture).

The farmers adjudged best are: Jitla Gangadhar (paddy-Nizamabad district), B. Obula Reddy (groundnut-Anantapur), R. Rama Tulasi Reddy (groundnut-Kurnool), Deekonda Ramachandram (maize-Nizamabad), Avula Venkateswara Rao (Maize-Guntur), Gongloori Janardhan (redgram-Medak), K. Malleswara Reddy (Bengalgram-Anantapur), Adike Basavaraj (soyabean-Nizamabad), K. Srisailam (castor-Ranga Reddy), Challa Somasekhar Reddy (sunflower-Kadapa), Mula Somi Reddy (cotton-Warangal), Yeminedi Srinivasa Rao (blackgram-Guntur).
