Security has been stepped up at the Tirumala town of Lord Venkateswara in connection with the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s visit to the place.

According to the itinerary Modi who is scheduled to spend his night atop the town will offer his prayers to the presiding deity on Thursday morning.

Restrictions are being slapped on the movement of the pilgrims in front of the main temple complex. Devotees coming out of the temple after the darshan of the deity on Thursday will have to opt the exist route behind the temple complex. Shop keepers en route the main temple were asked to down their shutters. Controls also have been imposed on the media.

Further in view of the threat perception and alert warnings by various central intelligence agencies the Urban police at Tirupati released the photos of over ten suspected militants who are believed to create trouble during Modi’s visit.
