HYDERABAD: The State Election Commission (SEC) has urged prospective voters living under the jurisdiction of the GHMC to ensure their names are in the ward-wise electoral rolls to be finalised soon for the forthcoming civic polls as possessing an Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) alone was not enough to vote.
SEC Secretary G.M. Ramesh Kumar in a communication to all recognised and registered political parties here on Wednesday informed them while they could not file bulk claims and objections for inclusion or deletion in the voters lists as per the Election Commission norms, they can instead motivate the general public to file for claims and objections on their own. The GHMC has been asked to publish ward wise electoral rolls in all ward offices or mandal or revenue divisional officers by June 10 . Claims and objections for inclusion or deletion of names should be filed either with Electoral Registration Officers or Assistant EROs of respective Assembly constituencies.
