Several throng the beach road to see the change
Continuing the trend as part of sea surge, the seawater inched forward at Submarine Museum and a few other places on the picturesque Visakhapatnam-Bhimili beach road on Sunday.
Several people thronged the beach road, particularly the Kursura Submarine Museum, which suffered heavy damage to its boundary wall. “The red look of the seawater and high tides gave scary moments,” said environmental activist J.V. Ratnam. He said the change in the beach morphology was mainly due to massive constructions allowed on the coast violating Coastal Regulation Zone norms and called for steps to arrest erosion.
