Talking without a second thought has proved costly for the chairman of Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) M. Kodandaram.
An SC/ST Atrocities (Prevention) case was registered against him at Zaheerabad police station in Medak district.
Alleging that Mr. Kodandaram has used unparliamentary and objectionable language against local legislator and Major Industries Minister J. Geeta Reddy while addressing a meeting at Zaheerabad, a complaint was lodged with the police at Zaheerabad police station on Thursday.
According to Circle Inspector Mr. Sridhar Reddy, district Dalit Organisations president Mr. Purushottam Rao lodged a complaint with the police. He has also submitted clipping of the reports appeared in the media and a CD containing the comments made by Mr. Kodandaram. He said that a case was registered against the TJAC leader based on the complaint.
One of the DSP in the district would be appointed as investigating officer in the case.
The police informed that there were no chances of withdrawing the case. “No one can withdraw the case once it was filed. The DSP would submit a report to the Superintendent of Police based on which it would be decided whether to arrest Mr. Kodandaram or not,” said a police official.
