Scribes and lensmen staged a relay hunger strike in front of Kadapa Collectorate on Sunday, under the aegis of Kadapa Journalists’ Aikya Vedika.

Journalists Sasisri, K. Suryanarayana Rao, I. Sadasiva Reddy, Balakrishna Reddy, Suri Babu, Gopalakrishna Murthy, Murali, Pavan and others garlanded the statue of Potti Sreeramulu and took out a rally to the Collectorate.

‘Withdraw decision’

Rayalaseema lost its capital to Kurnool in the past and would now lose irrigation water if the State was bifurcated.

The Central government should withdraw the bifurcation decision considering the intensive 40-day-old agitation for the united State, they said.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) State secretary S. Goverdhan Reddy, Private School Correspondents’ Association leader S. Elias Reddy and others expressed solidarity with the striking activists and participated in the rally.
