The South Central Railway (SCR) has advised passengers to carefully plan their journey keeping in view the possibility of cyclone Lehar causing disruptions in the movement of trains in Renigunta-Gudur-Vijayawada–Samalkot / Kakinada–Visakhapatnam and Machilipatnam–Gudivada–Bhimavaram –Narasapur sections in the next two days.
Vijayawada Railway Division Senior PRO F.R. Michael stated in release that there was a likelihood of changes in the pattern of train services in the region on Thursday and Friday.
Local passenger and express trains running in the region were likely to be fully or partially cancelled or regulated.
Long distance express trains running between the southern parts of the country and the north and east through these routes, via Vijayawada, were likely to be regulated or diverted via suitable alternate routes like Renigunta, Guntakal, Guntur, Kazipet and Balharshah.
