South Central Railway, General Manager, G.N Asthana visited the Guntur railway station and inspected various facilities. Divisional Railway Manager Anand Mathur along with other senior officers accompanied him.
Member of Parliament Rayapati Sambasiva Rao called on Mr. Asthana at the railway station and urged him to clear pending proposals for doubling of tracks, introduction and extension of express trains and providing more passenger amenities at the station.
Earlier, South Central Railway Employees Sangh divisional secretary B.K Visweswara Rao submitted a memorandum to the General Manager urging him to take action on several pending issues.
Mr. Rao urged the GM to provide A/C in the ground floor of Rail Mahal Kalyana Mandapam and develop the infrastructure at the Divisional Railway Hospital.
He also urged the GM to fill up existing vacancies in safety and non-safety categories.
He said that the sharing of trains between Guntur and other divisions for drivers, guards and TTEs has been kept pending still and pointed out that the agreement between labour organisations and administration over handing of newly introduced trains to the Guntur division was yet to be materialised.
