Mass marriage scheme turns a success
ADILABAD: Labour Minister G. Vinod blessed couples at the mass marriage ceremony organised at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) kalyana mandapam at Adilabad on Thursday. Over 200 couples tied the knot at the event.
The TTD provided a ceremonial wedding dress for the couple, a `thalibottu', a pair of `mettelu' and free dinner for 22 persons for each couple.
Sangareddy: The marriage scheme helped 96 couples tie the holy knot in all the ten Assembly segments in Medak district.
NIZAMABAD: As many as 97 couples across the district got married under the TTD's Kalyanamastu scheme.
Mayor D. Sanjay and Collector I.S. Sri Naresh blessed the new couples by presenting them new clothes. According to the Collector, the response to the function was excellent.
KARIMNAGAR: A total of 217 couples tied the nuptial knot in various parts of the district under the Kalyanamastu scheme. In Karimnagar town 18 marriages were performed at TTD kalyana mandapam and Superintendent of Police Y. Gangadhar participated as chief guest and distributed marriage certificates to the couples.
KHAMMAM: Some 383 couples tied the nuptial knot under the TTD-sponsored `Kalyanamastu' organised at eight centres in the district on Thursday.
The temple town of Bhadrachalam accounted for the highest of 201 marriages.
