Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science and Technology will organise a model-based district-level science exhibition on – Land Resources – on the Ramakrishna School premises on Friday. This is part of 18 {+t} {+h} National Children's Science Congress-2010. Host school director A. Krishna Reddy said main theme Land Resources –use for prosperity save for posterity has been sub-divided into six themes and children from government and private schools would put up models. The six sub-themes are Know your land, Functions of land, Land Quality, Antropogenic activities on land, Sustainable use of land and Community knowledge on land use.

The participants would present their projects and aa project report. The National Children's Science Congress had released a brochure on the guidelines. Selected project would be sent to state and national level contest from January 3 to 7. The exhibition is open for all from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on school premises at NAD Kotha Road.

VUDA prize-winners

Winners in some of the competitions conducted by VUDA Children's Club so far in the run-up to the Children's Day have been declared.

In the short drama event, Nalanda Talent School bagged first place, Timpany Steel City School stood second and St. Anthony won third place while Ramakrishna School bagged the consolation prize.

In the Classical group dance event, students of Sri Abhinaya Nruthya Niketan of Srikakulam won ‘Best of Best' prize by becoming highlight of the show.

In Classical- group dance (Junior) Priya Ramanujam Dance School of 104 area won first place and Visakha Music and Dance Academy and Balaji English Medium High School of Gopalapatnam stood second and third. Pearl Public School of Thokada won consolation prize. In Senior category, Little Angels School, MVP Colony, Nirmala Music and Dance Academy, Gajuwaka, VT School and Triveni Fine Arts Academy of Itchapuram won first, second, third and consolation prizes.

In folk dance, Mahathi Public School of Purushothapuram, Nirmala Music and Dance Academy (Gajuwaka), VT School and Balaji English Medium School (Gopalapatnam) secured first, second, third and consolation places in juniors' category. Bethany Public School of PM Palem won first place, New Central School of Srikakulam second place and Nirmala Music and Dance academy of Gajuwaka and Little Angels School of MVP Colony won third and consolation prizes in Seniors' category. Saraswathi Nrithya Kalamandir in the senior category and Sri Satya Sai Vidya Mandir of Ravindra Nagar among juniors were selected for appreciation prizes. Prizes will be given away on Sunday.
