A partial bandh of schools, both government and private, was observed in Nalgonda on Friday in response to the call given by the district unit of the Students' Federation of India (SFI) in protest against the lathi-charge on its activists here on yesterday.
The police resorted to lathi-charge as the students pelted stones at them resulting in injuries to town CI E. Ravinder and several bus passengers.
The SFI activists were protesting in front of the Collectorate demanding increase in scholarships and mess charges and immediate payment of the pending scholarships and fee reimbursement.
Meanwhile, police on Friday arrested 25 SFI activists for their alleged involvement in stone-pelting. The accused were produced in a local court.
