The State Bank of India has given away a school bus to Dakshinya Institute for Mentally Handicapped at Swarna Bharathi Nagar as part of corporate social responsibility.
Chairman Pratip Chaudhuri has given the keys of the bus to director of the institute, T.V Rao at a function held at SBI administrative office here on Saturday.
Mr. Chaudhuri said that 26-seater bus would help the school to provide better transport facility to students.
He also said that business volume of Guntur Branch is Rs.760 crore, the highest in SBI Hyderabad Circle.
The deposits in the Guntur Branch is Rs.220 crore and deposits Rs.540 crore.
The SBI has set apart one per cent of its net profits for service activities, he added.
