State Bank of India, main branch, here has organised ‘Pensioners Meet’ on its premises. Many State government, Railways, and SBI pensioners attended the meeting, which was presided over by K. Jagan Mohan Rao, Regional Manager of the bank. 

He informed the gathering about various initiatives being taken by the bank to improve services to senior citizens. Recently, the bank has decided to accept life certificates from pensioners at any of its branches and not necessarily from the home branch from where the pension is being drawn.

Srihari, Chief Manager (Administration), Regional Office, clarified that the bank would make arrangements to fulfil formalities if a pensioner is bedridden and unable to reach bank in person to submit life certificate. However, the pensioner must produce medical certificate to the bank to that effect. K. Dattatreya,

Chief Manager of the branch, said the bank was offering ATM debit cards and internet banking facilities to the pensioners. P. Appa Rao, S. S. Karri and P.S.V. Kumar, presidents of the State Government Pensioners’ Association, Railway Pensioners’ Association, and SBI Pensioners’ Association respectively, were present, according to a press release.
