State Bank of India (SBI) Chief General Manager C.R. Sasikumar inaugurated the 26{+t}{+h}branch of the bank in the city in front of the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium (besides Ramesh Stroke Hospital) here on Tuesday.

The CGM talking to the media said that the new branch had several new technological initiatives like mobile banking, a green channel counter and a section that was opened round the clock with cash deposit machines, self service kiosks and internet banking terminals.

He said that if the customers used the technology products of the SBI they could do financial transactions at home and even while travelling. Giving a brief about the bank’s performance Mr. Sasikumar said that the Vijayawada module of SBI had on date secured Rs.10,125 crore as deposits and disbursed Rs.12, 863 crore as advances.

The module which had jurisdiction over 267 branches in Krishna, East and West Godavari districts was also running 521 ATMs for the benefit of customers. Mr. Sashikumar as part of a CSR programme handed over the keys of a school bus valued at Rs.14.85 lakh to Rama Krishna Mission School, Seethanagaram. Deputy General Manager Hannah Rachael Mani and Regional Manager P.V.Sekhat were present.
