Members of Gorakshak Samithi on Monday demanded that the Centre implement a total ban on cow-slaughter across the country.
The ban on cow slaughter is in place at several States like Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat but there is a need to implement the ban throughout India, Gorakshak Samithi members felt.

This had forced the then Union Home Minister Gulzarilal Nanda to resign from his post. There is a dire need to ban cow-slaughter throughout India,” president of Gorakshak Samithi, G. Hanumanth Rao said in the meeting.
Several others including organising secretary of Bharatiya Govamsa Rakshana Samvardhan Parishad, T. Yadagiri, city convenor of Cow Development Cell, Balaram Sharma, Pukhraj Joshi of Gorakshak Samithi were present in the meeting.
