The fund-starved district administration has decided to conduct the three-day ‘Satavahana Kalotsavalu’ on a grand scale in Karimnagar from December 13 to 15, with the support of philanthropists.

The authorities have decided to conduct the ‘Satavahana Kalotsavalu’ in colourful manner at the Ambedkar Stadium as the main venue with the organisation of the Dwcra exhibition, setting up food court and conduct of rural games and cultural programmes. The cultural programmes would also be held at the Kalabharathi in the town. A flower show and a handloom exhibition will also be organised at the Arts College Ground as part of the programme .

Seminars on Telugu language would also be conducted at the SRR Government Degree and PG College and Urdu Mushaira and Qawali would be held at the TNGOs function hall. The Satavahana University would conduct a seminar on folk history of Karimnagar district. The Film Bhavan would host the ‘Kavi Sammelan’.

Sources said that they were planning to conduct rangoli, cookery and mehendi competitions for the women and well-baby show for the children.
