Representatives of 14 universities will attend the meeting
The Samaikyandhra Students’ JAC leaders said that the representatives of 14 universities would attend the meeting to be organised in Hyderabad on January 18 to chalk out their future course of action for carrying forward their agitation against any move for the bifurcation of the State.
JAC convener Krishna Yadav said that they were making plans to intensify their agitation and mount pressure on the political parties’ leaders to express their solidarity with the United Andhra Pradesh movement. He said the JAC would demand that the Congress leaders make a positive statement for Samaikyandhra at their ‘Chinta Baithak’ brain-storming session to be held in Jaipur from January 18 to 24.
Addressing a press conference here, on Wednesday, Mr. Krishna Yadav asserted that the JAC would also mount pressure on the opposition Telugu Desam Party by demanding a statement from its president in favour of a united AP during his padayatra in coastal Andhra.
