Pro-Samaikyandhra protest programmes continued in different parts of the district, even as the ‘Pulicat Poli Keka’ (Roar of Pulicat Lake) turned out to be a grand success with all sections of employees and people taking part in it at Sullurupeta town on Tuesday.

Panchayat Raj employees held demonstrations at their office premises. Women employees cooked food and served to the participants as part of the ‘vanta varpu’ protest.

The NGOs’ leaders reiterated their commitment to continuing the agitation despite facing odds. Efforts were being made to arrange bank loans to the striking employees.

The Sullurupeta protest meeting came in handy for the leaders to make it clear to the district officials that the educational institutions and employees and teachers were all prepared for making any sacrifice for keeping the State united. As part of the ‘Poli Keka’, the Samaikya activists took out rallies in Sullurupeta, Tada, Doravarisatram and other places in the vicinity of the Pulicat lake.

Students from all government and private schools arrived in large numbers. Fishermen’s communities took active part in the Sullurupeta public meeting.
