The MLAs supporting a united Andhra Pradesh from Krishna and other districts will go to New Delhi on Monday night to make their voice heard on the Telangana issue, Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal has said.
Addressing a press conference in Andhra Ratna Bhavan, the city Congress office here on Sunday Mr. Rajagopal along with MLAs Malladi Vishnu, Vellampalli Srinivas and MLC Ilapuram Venkaiah released the Samaikyandhra flag and ‘kanduva’ (cloth worn ornamentally on the shoulders).
He asked all the Samaikyandhra activists to wear the kanduva which had the pictures of Telugu Thalli, Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, Pottisriramulu, Indira Gandhi, Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy and founder of Telugu Desam Party N.T.Rama Rao, while agitating against the division of the state.
Both the flag and the kanduva were tri-coloured like the Indian National flag.
The Samaikyandhra flag released on the occasion had a map of Andhra Pradesh with the words ‘Jai Samaikyandhra’ written in Telugu on it.
Mr. Rajagopal said the situation in the State had come to such a pass primarily because Telugu Desam leader N. Chandrababu Naidu had repeatedly raked up the issue.
