On the occasion of the 86th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, seven mobile hospitals, with modern diagnostic equipment were launched by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation at Puttaparthi.

Inspired by the mobile hospital services provided at Prasanthi Nilayam, the aim of this endeavour is to take free medical care of the highest order to the doorsteps of the poor and the needy in rural villages of Andhra Pradesh, a press release said

These mobile hospitals, which are ambulance like vehicles equipped with various instruments to diagnose and treat if necessary to an extent, will cover the rural villages in the districts of Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Kadapa, Mahabubnagar and Hyderabad. With the help of voluntary services rendered by teams of doctors and paramedical staff, primary care will be rendered along with health & hygiene awareness education to the poor and needy.
