VISAKHAPATNAM: The National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), Simhadri, organised a one-day workshop on occupational safety and health at its unit on Thursday.

NTPC GM (Safety and R&R) J. Mohapatra, inaugurating the workshop, stressed the need for taking more measures to understand the possible causes of accidents and ways to prevent them as the power station was an electrical establishment Technical skills along with measures of safety and health would go a long way in maintaining accident free power generation, he said. Plant GM R. Venkateswaran explained about the various safety arrangements available in NTPC Simhadri.

Among others, chief medical officer Subhash Chandra, additional GM (O & M) P.R. Dahake, sr.manager (safety) A.B. Lal and manager (safety) H.M. Gangopadhyay participated.
