Sabbam Hari, Anakapalle Congress MP and close associate of YSRCP, has denied any rift with the leadership of the YSRCP.

Addressing mediapersons here on the sidelines of a function organised to distribute tricycles to the physically disabled under his MPLADS funds, the MP said that his absence at the recent regional meet of the YSRCP was not politically-motivated. Pointing out that he had never attended any of the official functions of the YSRCP, Mr. Hari said that he had stayed away from earlier programmes of party honorary president Vijayamma.

“I have been assigned some specific party tasks by party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy and I am busy with that. It is not necessary for me to attend party functions to prove my loyalty,” he said. The leaders have been discussing the issues regarding party matters, he asserted.

Mr. Hari said that he preferred to be a backroom boy and do the work behind the scenes and not try to hog the limelight for his work, whatever its magnitude. He said that he would be contributing to the success of ‘Maro Mahaprasthanam’ being taken out by Sharmila, daughter of former chief minister late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and would be a part of the behind the scenes work.
