Pallam Raju to launch DEEP at polytechnic college today
The SAAB, a Swedish company having business interests in Andhra Pradesh, proposes to introduce a Corporate Social Responsibility project activity at Gudivada in Krishna District on Wednesday.
The company having relations with Hindustan Aeronautics and Mahindra Satyam in Andhra Pradesh has created a six-month add-on course for engineering and other undergraduate students to bridge the skill gap, to enable them to get employment.
The add-on skill training programme to be launched along with final semester at the college level for students aiming for employment will be formally launched at VKR & VNB Polytechnic College by a team coming from Sweden and its training programme implementation partners AIKIA.
The training is meant for students looking for a job or going for higher studies.
The programme titled DEEP (Diploma Education Enhancement Programme) will be a mix of theoretical studies, workshops, project assignments, soft skill training and practice within the industry environment.
The programme will be formally launched by Union Minister for HRD M.M. Pallam Raju and it involves training in soft skill, English learning, presentation, etc. The formal inauguration begins at 12.30 p.m. at which the Swedish team and the college principal will make presentations.
AutoCAD centre will also be inaugurated as part of the programme.
The Union Minister will lay foundation for a new MBA College building on the college premises.
Minister for Secondary Education K. Parthasarathi will also be present at the inaugural.
