HYDERABAD: The `rytu chaitanya yatra' of the State Government which was scheduled to conclude on Thursday has been extended by two days to cover the villages left out.

Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy disclosed this to reporters here following a meeting to review the programme. The meeting noted with satisfaction the participation of officials of agriculture and related departments and the response of farmers to the programme. He said 23 lakh farmers, including a large number of women, took part in it.

The Minister said it was decided to organise rytu sadassu at revenue divisional headquarters all over the State from May 2 to 6 as a follow-up on the yatra. Four or five selected farmers from each habitation would be invited to the sadassu for training in improved techniques of farming.
