Rythu Chaitanya Yatras are aimed at enlightening farmers on the latest techniques and will be conducted in all the 50 mandals in Kadapa district, Joint Collector K. Nirmala said on Tuesday.
She formally flagged off Rythu Chaitanya Yatra campaign vehicles that would go around Kadapa, Chennur, Pendlimarry, Chintakommadinne and Khajipet, at the Collectorate. Rythu Chaitanya Yatras would be held from May 17 to June 2 and Rythu Chaitanya Sadassus would be held in Kadapa revenue division on June 7, Jammalamadugu on June 9 and in Rajampet division on June 11, Ms. Nirmala said.
Teams of officials of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, electricity, fisheries, sericulture, employment guarantee scheme, DRDA and officials promoting non-pesticide agriculture and agriculture scientists would tour the mandals and give suggestions to farmers on latest scientific findings, before the onset of the kharif season. Ms. Nirmala exhorted farmers to purchase fertilizers, pesticides and seed from licensed shops and procure bills.
