District Collector G. Venkatram Reddy on Thursday said the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu scheme would change the lives of unemployed youth in the district since the government was keen on providing employment opportunities in their vicinity with attractive salaries after imparting qualitative training in the respective fields.

Speaking at the celebrations of the 63rd Republic Day at KR Stadium, the Collector said some 6,000 youngsters were selected under the RYK programme in the district. He said the district was witnessing overall development with the implementation of various government schemes. “In spite of the developmental activities, many farmers are facing trouble with the drought situation. That is why the government declared 30 mandals out of 38 drought hit and soon relief measures will be taken up in the affected mandals,” he said.
