HYDERABAD: More than 120 employees of different regional rural banks were arrested when they staged a demonstration in front of Deccan Grameena Bank Chairman's office in Saroornagar on Monday.

The employees were protesting against "harassment tactics" by the bank managements by way of unilateral transfers and suspensions.

The employees owing allegiance to Andhra Pradesh Regional Rural Bank Officers Association Federation sat on a dharna demanding that the suspension of K. Ramakrishna Reddy in Kama Reddy be revoked. The employees were alleging that "harassment" had begun after the merger of Golconda, Shatavahana, Srirama and Saraswathi regional rural banks under the umbrella of Deccan Grameena Bank.
