The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will never interfere in the process of the Bharatiya Janata Party firming up the name of its Prime Ministerial candidate, said RSS Zonal Secretary (A.P. & Karnataka), D. Ramakrishna Rao here on Thursday.
Fielding questions at a press conference here on Thursday, he said there was increasing interest from people who wanted to join hands with the RSS and make their point clear about the threats that Hindu as a religion was facing. “While the RSS is focussed on safeguarding Hinduism and making more and more people become better citizens, the BJP as a political party has its own ideology, parameters and way of functioning. We have never thought of imposing our will on the party and assure you that as far as the party’s Prime Ministerial nominee goes, we have nothing to say,” he said.
He announced that starting from May 3, the first training and orientation camp of the RSS in the State this year would be held in the outskirts of Hyderabad. An estimated 500 delegates from all over the State were expected to attend this camp.
