Union Ministry of Urban Development has sanctioned Rs.3.23 crore to the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) as its fourth and the last instalment of its share for the underground drainage project taken up in the temple city.

JNNURM scheme

Of the total project outlay of Rs.16.13 crore, Central government's share is Rs.12.90 crore while the State is bearing the rest to complete the project currently underway as part of the works taken up under JNNURM.

MP apprised

Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath has in a letter communicated informed the Tirupati MP, Dr. Chintha Mohan that the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, was being advised to release the amount to the government of Andhra Pradesh to in turn make it available to the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati for the early completion of the underground drainage works.
