Funds for road improvement, sanitation works, provision of drinking water facilities, etc.

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy announced Rs.1.30 crore to lay roads, sanitation works, and provision of drinking water facilities, besides construction of a Sthree Sakthi Bhavan at Papasanipalli village of Madakasira mandal, here on Saturday.

Mr. Reddy who announced this at a press meet near the helipad at Kothulagutta village, proceeded to inaugurate the newly-constructed building of Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural Engineering College at Madakasira mandal headquarters.

While inaugurating the building, which was constructed at a cost of Rs.5 crore, he appealed to students to be clear in their career course and study what they really liked as that would get them to their goals.

Quality education

The Chief Minister also inaugurated an agriculture polytechnic building.

He said that the State government was spending more than Rs.26,000 crore every year for students and their education and added that more than Rs.8,000 crore was being spent on the fees reimbursement programme alone, which, he said, the government considered crucial to ensure quality education for all in the State.

He also informed them that the State government had provided 60,000 jobs in this year alone as against a sanction to create 1.25 lakh jobs and said that this was the first-ever time that so many jobs had been created in the State.

New stadium

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy also announced sanction of Rs.1.25 crore towards construction of a new stadium at Madakasira mandal headquarters, besides construction of a building for a vocation college at Madakasira.

The meeting was attended by Revenue Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy, Rural Development Minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasad, Minister for Women and Child Welfare Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, besides local MLA Sudhakar.
