Rs.114-crore infrastructure proposed for Medaram jatara

The government has proposed to improve infrastructure facilities for the Medaram festival, organised once in two years in Warangal district, for the convenience of about one crore devotees who attend the festival from within the State and outside.

Jatara to be held from

February 12 to 15

The Medaram Jatara will be organised between February 12 and 15 and the government has proposed to lay three new roads, Chhattisgarh-Adilabad road and those coming via Karimnagar and Khammam and provide new shower ghats in addition to the existing ghats of 1,200 metres at a cost Rs.114 crore.

I-T Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah met Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and discussed with him the proposed infrastructure for the festival on Monday.

Later he told reporters that work for creating additional facilities for the benefit of devotees coming to the Medaram festival would be expedited.
