The city police arrested six persons, including two juveniles, and recovered 11 stolen motorcycles and a laptop, all valued at Rs.3.75 lakh, in two different cases in the city on Tuesday.

Giving details to the media here on Tuesday, Police Commissioner B. Shivadhar Reddy said that four of the accused were identified as: K Srinu (21) of Srikakulam, B. Venu (19) and Y. Demudu (22) both auto drivers of Arilova, S Jagadeesh Kumar (22), an employee of a private company in Srikakulam.

B. Venu and S. Jagadeesh Kumar were involved in criminal activities in the past and were released from jail this year. All the four were caught during routine vehicle checking done by the II Town SI N Srinivas Rao at Appughar on Tuesday. In a second case, two juveniles going on a stolen motorcycle were caught by II Town police head constable G Muralidhar and Blue Colts team members K Suresh and K Krishna at Ramakrishna Theatre Junction on Monday evening. During interrogation, the accused confessed that they had stolen five motorcycles and concealed them at the Railway Quarters at Allipuram. All the stolen bikes were recovered.
