KADAPA: The Government formulated a plan to spend Rs. 20,000 crores and earmark 8,000 acres of land in the State for Rajiv Swagruha scheme, for construction of houses for the middle-class, Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy said on Monday.
Four-and-half lakh persons applied for Rajiv Swagruha and submitted demand drafts of Rs. 3,000 each in the State, he said in a Praja Patham meeting at Nakkash in the 50th municipal division here. Some 9,000 persons applied for the scheme in Kadapa district.
The action taken on people's representations received in Praja Patham would be reviewed by holding meetings at the same venues in Kadapa Municipal Corporation after a gap of 30 days, the Mayor said. Kadapa Municipal Commissioner S. Aleem Basha said Rs. 2.48 crores was disbursed under `pavala vaddi' scheme to 694 women self-help groups.
