Rs. 1.5 crore worth ganja crop destroyed

The excise police of Medak district destroyed ganja crop grown in the district on the second consecutive day.

The excise officials from Narayanakhed, Medak, Jogipet and Patancheru raided the crop being cultivated along with red gram and destroyed it. It was estimated that the cost of the destroyed crop in the market would be around Rs.1.5 crore, according to officials.

Meanwhile, the excise police also seized 23 hybrid ganja plants being grown in the courtyard of two persons at Garlapally village in Munipally mandal. These plants grow eight feet high and the yield would also be substantially high comparing with general plants that would be cultivated as mixed crop with other plants. Police arrested Moulana and Ch. Nagaiah.
