Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao visits flood-hit areas

Srikakulam: Minister for Revenue and Relief Dharmana Prasada Rao on Monday announced that Rs.15 crores would be spent for taking up relief and rehabilitation measures in the Srikakulam Municipality. The Minister who had visited flood-affected areas like Kellaveedhi, Teppalveedhi and Mahlakshminagar Visakha `A' colony and reviewed relief measures, said the drinking water supply system in the town had been affected and 15 drinking water tanks had been pressed into service to ensure potable water to people. More would be deployed if necessary, he said.

Mr. Prasada Rao said so far 3000 families had been given 20 kg rice and five litres of kerosene each. ZP chairman Palavalasa Rajasekhar and municipal chairperson M. V. Padmavathi accompanied the Minister.
