Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Bhadrachalam, Project Officer, Praveen Kumar has said that proposals worth Rs 1,099 crore had been sent to the government for taking up a total of 1,650 developmental works under the development plan for left wing extremism (LWE)-affected areas in the district.
Disclosing this to media persons in Bhadrachalam on Wednesday, Mr. Praveen Kumar said that 463 works had been proposed at an estimated cost of Rs 582.10 crore for development of road infrastructure under the plan.
Proposals had also been sent for sanction of Rs. 127 crore for taking up works under minor irrigation front, Rs. 105.51 crore for education, and Rs 156.89 crore for electricity and other allocations for various crucial spheres under the plan for LWE affected areas. This apart, developmental works including construction of 27 check dams and 77 road works have already been taken up under NREGS, he said adding that efforts were underway to implement Koneru Ranga Rao Committee report.
A complaint box and a toll-free phone facility would be set up at the ITDA office to redress the grievances of the tribals, he said.
Earlier, Mr. Praveen Kumar visited Marrigudem and various other interior villages in Venkatapuram on a motorcycle and made an on the spot assessment of the implementation of Land Transfer Regulation Act.
